Influenza has appeared in Virginia already. Get your flu shots now to protect yourself and your family. McLean Immediate Care stocks the pediatric flu vaccine for ages 6 months to 35 months, as well as 2 adult types: the traditional 3-strain flu shot and new 4-strain flu shot. Bring the whole family in for the best protection against flu.
Track influenza activity in the US on the CDC website:
This year’s vaccines are a very good match to circulating strains of influenza virus, meaning it should provide excellent protection. Everyone 6 months or older should get the flu vaccine, especially pregnant women and anyone with a lung condition such as those with asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, or smokers.
The classic symptoms of flu are sudden onset of fever, headache, body aches, cough, sneezing and runny nose. If you have flu symptoms, we can perform a rapid test at McLean Immediate Care to confirm the diagnosis. We can treat influenza in the first 48 hours with Tamiflu, so it is important to catch it early.
